“This is what the Fourth of July in Kentucky is all about,” said promoter Heath Eric. “Fireworks, hometown pride, and a full night celebrating Kentucky music heritage. The Kentucky Headhunters are true rock stars and Grammy winners who helped define Southern rock and country. The last time they played in Beaver Dam, they sold out quickly. It doesn’t get any better than seeing a legendary Kentucky band headline Independence Day right here at home.”
Eric continued, “Fellow Kentucky native Andy Brasher brings soulful vocals, powerful musicianship, and authentic storytelling that perfectly sets the tone for this unforgettable celebration.”
ABOUT THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS
Declared “the great American rock ‘n’ roll band” by Billboard, the Kentucky Headhunters helped pioneer a powerful fusion of honky-tonk, blues, and Southern rock that resonated with both country and rock audiences.
Formed in rural Kentucky by brothers Fred and Richard Young with cousins Greg Martin and Anthony Kenney, the band evolved from their early group Itchy Brother into the Kentucky Headhunters in 1986.
Their breakthrough album Pickin’ On Nashville (1989) sold more than two million copies and earned:
Grammy Award
American Music Award
Academy of Country Music Award
Multiple CMA Awards
Four consecutive Top 40 country hits including “Dumas Walker” and “Oh Lonesome Me”
Over the decades, the band has built a reputation for electrifying live shows, gritty musicianship, and a roots-driven sound that blends Southern rock swagger with country soul. Their influence helped shape the country-rock movement of the late 1980s and 1990s, and they remain a touring force delivering the high-energy performances fans have loved for generations.
ABOUT THE ANDY BRASHER BAND
Kentucky songwriter and recording artist Andy Brasher brings fresh energy to Americana and country-rock through vivid storytelling, soulful vocals, and dynamic musicianship.
Brasher has released six studio albums and is currently working on his seventh in Nashville. His acclaimed release Myna Bird showcases his blend of heartfelt ballads, country-rock anthems, and witty originals. The Andy Brasher Band tours nationally, delivering powerful live performances and crowd favorites from across his catalog.
A KENTUCKY INDEPENDENCE DAY TRADITION
Now in its 12th year, Sparks in the Park brings thousands together to celebrate Independence Day with live music, community spirit, and one of the region’s most anticipated fireworks displays.
There is only one place for a DAM GOOD Fourth of July.
