MidAmerica Talent is proud to present “Songs In The Key of Life”, a birthday celebration of the Life and Music of Stevie Wonder. The show will take place on Friday & Saturday, May 3rd & 4th, 2024 at Bunkers, 761 N. Washington in Minneapolis. The music will begin at 9:30 PM and tickets are $17.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door. Advance tickets are available at www.matalent.eventbrite.com.Born on May 13th, 1950, Stevland Hardaway Morris, better known by his stage name Stevie Wonder, is an American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist. A child prodigy, Wonder is one of the most critically and commercially successful musical performers of the late 20th century.
He signed with Motown's Tamla label at the age of 11 and continued performing and recording for Motown into the 2010s. Among Wonder's works are singles such as "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours", "Superstition", "Sir Duke", "You Are the Sunshine of My Life", and "I Just Called to Say I Love You"; and albums such as Talking Book (1972), Innervisions (1973), and Songs in the Key of Life (1976). He has recorded more than 30 U.S. top-ten hits and received 25 Grammy Awards, and has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the top 60 best-selling music artists of all time.
MidAmerica Talent has assembled some of Minneapolis’ finest vocalists and musicians to pay tribute to Stevie including Jay Bee (The Routine), Lynval Jackson (International Reggae All-Stars), Art Haynes (R-Factor), Brian Kendrick (Mint Condition), Kathleen Johnson (Prince), Cornisha Garmon, Kevin Jackson, Lamont Keten, Jordan Johnston, Adrian Davis, Kevin Anderson and several very special surprise guests. The show will include all of Stevie’s hit songs, from the early Motown days all the way through today.
