Celebrate Earth Day on the banks of the Kansas River! Every year over 100 people volunteer to pick up trash and litter on the Kansas riverbank below Bowersock dam. Join us this Earth Day and be a part of something special!Saturday, April 18,2026
9:00 am - 11:00 am
North 2nd St. and Locust Ave.
Lawrence, KS
We'll meet in the city parking lot on the southeast corner of N. 2nd and Locust St. From there, we'll divide into teams and clean the riverbank below Bowersock dam. We will not clean near any houseless camp areas.

Thank you to the City of Lawrence, The Merc Co-op, and The Nature Conservancy in Kansas for partnering with us on this project.
Partial funding for this cleanup event was made possible through the generous support of Douglas County Community Foundation's Giving for Good campaign. Thank you also to Blue Collar Press for their support.
