110 Stories - Geneseo
A staged reading of the play, 110 Stories, by Sara Tuft, will be performed on September 14, 2025, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary. The play is a compilation of representative stories of 9/11 and the Twin Towers: the rescuers, the rescued; the healers, the healing; those who ran toward danger, and those who perished.
Advance online ticket sales begin August 7, 2025, through Eventbright. In-person ticket sales begin August 24, 2025, before and after church services. ALL proceeds of ticket sales will be donated to the Henry County Office of Emergency Management (OEM).
OEM needs to replace its Radiation Detection Unit, now long past its prime and beyond grant-funding from Homeland Security. The unit not only detects radiation, but air-quality generally at disaster sites, which encompass operations in Henry, Stark and Mercer Counties—an area of 1,683 square miles, the largest such district in the State of Illinois.
Mat Schnepple, Director of OEM, will attend the performance of 110 Stories, and be available to discuss the vital importance of the unit.
Please plan to attend the performance. Advance ticket sales are encouraged, as seating is limited.
Due to the graphic nature of the horrors of 9/11, the 3 p.m. performance is not recommended for children under the age of 13. The nursery will not be available for the performance. Out of respect for the actors, and individuals honored by these stories, late seating will not be permitted.
Eventbrite ticket costs include a $2.65 Eventbrite service charge. In person ticket sales will begin on August 16th in the commons area of Kingswood Church before and after services.
