About this Event
The 10th Annual UCC Economic Society Conference titled Ireland, Europe, and global power in uncertain times. The conference brings together leading economists, policymakers, financial experts, and international commentators to examine Ireland, Europe, and global power in an era of economic uncertainty. Hosted at Hayfield Manor Hotel in Cork, this year’s conference explores the evolving global economic landscape through three expert panels: Reflection of the Wealth of Nations 250 years on, Economics in Uncertain Times and Ireland’s Position in the Wider World, and Fiscal Policy and Irish Banking in Changing Times. Speakers from academia, government, finance, and international media will provide insight into geopolitics, economic statecraft, fiscal strategy, and the future world order. Taking place on 19 March from 9:00am to 1:30pm GMT, the event offers attendees an opportunity to engage with expert analysis, informed discussion, and forward-looking perspectives on the key forces shaping Ireland and the global economy.
The conference directors are Hugh Ahern, Brian O’Carroll, and Isobel O’Callaghan.
