10th Annual Columbia Memorial Stair Climb - 2026

25 years ago, the world stopped—but for thousands of heroes, it was only the beginning. As others fled, they ran toward the danger. As fear took hold, they climbed higher. They didn’t know what waited for them above—only that lives depended on them. On June 27, we climb to honor that courage, that sacrifice, and the lives that were forever changed.

Many of us can still picture exactly where we were when the world changed. But for thousands of families, that day never ended. Loved ones were lost. Futures were taken. And in the face of it all, first responders made the ultimate decision—to run toward danger, to climb higher, and to give everything they had for someone else. We climb to honor their bravery. We climb to honor their sacrifice.

Step by step, we recreate a portion of what they faced—not because we have to, but because we choose to remember. Every stair is a name. Every step is a story. Every breath is a reminder of the strength, courage, and selflessness shown that day.

This year’s climb will once again take place at the University of Missouri’s Hearnes Center in Columbia, Missouri. We are proud to host an event that not only remembers the fallen, but brings our community together in a powerful, shared purpose.

When you register, you are not just signing up for an event—you are choosing to be part of something bigger than yourself. Participants will have the opportunity to climb in honor of a fallen firefighter, law enforcement officer, or EMS professional. Each registration includes entry into the event, a commemorative climber’s T-shirt, a lanyard bearing the name of your chosen hero, and a custom challenge coin.

This climb is for everyone. Whether you are a firefighter, law enforcement officer, EMS personnel, military member, or a civilian who simply wants to show respect—you belong here. You don’t have to be the fastest or the strongest. You just have to be willing to take the next step.
