About this Event
Be a Guardian of Democracy
10,000 Women Louisiana presents the award-winning film The Librarians.
Be inspired by the courageous librarians on the front lines of the fight against censorship — defending intellectual freedom, protecting access to ideas, and upholding the Constitution in their communities.
The evening begins with a powerful pre-film panel conversation featuring Amanda Jones, who is featured in the film, alongside Lynette Mejia of the Louisiana Citizens Against Censorship. Together, they will frame the urgent challenges facing libraries, educators, and democracy itself.
After the film, Amanda Jones will remain for a book signing of her memoir, That Librarian — her Louisiana story of leadership, resilience, and courage in the fight against local book bans.
🎟 Seating is limited. Please purchase your tickets early.
