1000 Words Asheville Write-In w/Jami Attenberg

Let NYT bestselling author Jami Attenberg help you get words on the page this summer at this FREE in-person event June 6, 2026 at the Flatiron Writers Room! We'll kick off at 3pm with an introduction and prompt from Jami, then grab your notebook or laptop and get writing at the Flatiron Writers Room. We'll wrap up with a walk to a neighboring wine bar or brewery for social time. Whether you're a seasoned writer or just starting out, this write-in is all about putting words on the page and having fun while doing it.

2026 is the ninth year of Jami's annual online group writing accountability project #1000wordsofsummer. With her 1000 Words project, Jami hosts an online community of 52,000 writers of all levels who support each other to write 1000 words a day for two weeks straight. The program will run May 30 through June 12. 1000 Words is consistently cited in interviews and acknowledgments as a treasured resource for writers at all stages of their career.
