Join us on January 1, 2025 at Turtle Yoga in Algiers Point to fold 1000 origami cranes for peace.Legend says that if you are devoted enough to fold 1000 cranes your wish will be granted.
We will also honor Sadako Sasaki , a victim of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. She was 2 years old when the bombs were dropped and was severely affected by radiation. She is remembered through the story of the more than 1000 paper cranes she folded before her death at the age of 12.
There are several books about her available and we will have some at this free event for you to read.
This event is free and open to everyone. All materials are provided and instruction for folding the cranes will be available. We invite you to join us between 9am and 9pm to fold one crane or many.
