Come and celebrate 100 Years of the Conventual Franciscan Province of Our Lady of Consolation!This year, the Franciscan Friars of the Province of Our Lady of Consolation celebrate their Centenary! In 1912, the Friars of the Immaculate Conception Province based in New York came to serve the Shrine; and, just 14 years later, a new province was formed out of the Immaculate Conception Province to serve the Midwest. The friars chose to name the province after Our Lady of Consolation as their ministry had been so fruitful in this holy place.
On Sunday, May 3 at the 11:00am Mass, we will celebrate 100 Years of the Province of Our Lady of Consolation. Friars from throughout the province will return to celebrate. All are invited to attend the 11:00am Mass, Shrine Devotions, Evening Prayer, and a catered meal.
A formal RSVP will follow, but please, SAVE THE DATE for Sunday, May 3 to celebrate our Conventual Franciscan Friars who have served here as a province for 100 years and 114 years in total.
