Join us for the longest suicide prevention walk in the nation. 100 miles from Tooele City Hall to Wendover. It is the most healing journey.About this Event
Be on of the few, that can make the claim they've been part of this intense healing event, put on by the Life's Worth Living Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit. This is our 11th year making this 100 mile walk.
Some of the things you will need to know, is after you pay to register, we ask that you raise $500 per walker for the Life's Worth Living Foundation, to support local suicide prevention. We are an all volunteer non-profit which means the money goes to the cause.
We meet at Tooele City Hall on Friday morning, at 5:30 am for registration and to have a guest speaker get us pumped up for the walk. There may be media in house talking to the walkers. Then at 7am we take a group photo on the front steps of city hall, and begin the walk.
We will walk with Sheriff vehicles and tour buses in front and behind us for protection along the paved roadways. We will stop for lunch that will be provided at the Delle Exit. On day one we will walk to the Knolls exit #41. At this point we will load the buses and return to Tooele City Hall at appoximately 7pm.
Day two we will meet again at the same time at Tooele City Hall, where we will board the buses and return to Knolls Exit. We will begin walking and have lunch along the roadway. We hope to arrive at Wendover at approximately 3pm. We will have a police escort down the strip to the Wendover Will where we will take a group photo. Then the buses will take us to the Nuggett Hotel & Casino where you will recieve your room keys and have a chance to clean up and eat on your own, then meet at the buses at 7pm for the after party at the Peppermill Concert Hall.
Sunday morning we will have awards, then board the buses at 11am for the return trip concluding the walk.
This walk will change you. You will walk what some consider the most barren stetch of land in the state. You will find beauty in your journey. You will find hope and healing in meeting new people, and sharing our stories along the way. You will find the possible in what most consider to be impossible. You will leave here part of our Foundation family, with people youv'e learned you can count on. You can walk as little or as much as you like as long as you keep up with the buses. We hope you will consider taking part in the event, and being part of the solution. You will need to sign up quickly and get your fundraiser started, so you can reach your goal of $500. You will be suprised at how easily the fundraising part is when you do it on Facebook and Instagram, sharing your personal connection to the cause.
