100 Days From COP28: Commitment to Action
With the global stocktake at COP28 highlighting the finance gap, the financial services sector has a pivotal role to play in supporting the transition to a greener economy. Banks in the United Arab Emirates stepped forward at COP28 to announce an ambitious pledge to mobilise 1 trillion dirhams, or around $270 billion, in green finance.
As the Path to COP28 formally wraps up and we look forward to the legacy of COP28, GEFI is pleased to partner with DIFC to host a “100 Days from COP28 Summit: Commitment to Action” summit taking place in the DIFC Conference Centre at 9:30 – 11:30 (GST) on Tuesday 5 March 2024.
The event will provide an opportunity for local institutions to share their reflections on COP28 and highlight their plans for mobilising climate finance. Across a series of presentations, panels, and conversations participants will hear:
- An overview of COP28 Outcomes relating to finance
- A Progress Report from the UAE finance sector exploring commitments made at COP28, and plans to take action
- A discussion on Building a Sustainable Finance Ecosystem, following the launch of DIFCA’s Sustainable Finance Catalyst launched at COP28.
