10 Years push their evolution forward with their ninth album, Violent Allies [Mascot Records], building on their gold-certified legacy. The Knoxville, TN alternative rock trio embrace vulnerability, refined songcraft, and sonic adventure to create a cohesive and cathartic album. For nearly two decades, 10 Years have evolved modern rock, breaking through with The Autumn Effect (2005), featuring the hit “Wasteland.” They followed with successful albums and the 2017 reunion album How to Live (As Ghosts), which spawned the hit “Novacaine” and achieved over 51 million streams. After collaborating with GRAMMY®-winning producer Howard Benson in Los Angeles, the band found creative clarity. They prove their commitment with “The Shift,” the album’s first single, where melodic guitars meet a caustic beat and the lyrics explore society’s polarization. “It’s about how humans impact the Earth.” In the studio, the band reflected on the state of the world. They add, “The pandemic taught us how divided we are, but we’re all in this together. We need to adapt and realize we’re in the unknown right now.”
