About this Event
Route Description:
This walk starts at the National Trust Wenlock Edge car park on the edge of Much Wenlock. From here we walk across tracks and fields to Easthope via the lovely village of Bourton where we will stop for coffee.
From Easthope we climb up to the ironage fort in Mogg forest and also view the conjoined tree there. From there we make our way to the impressive Wilderhope manor for lunch on the picnic benches.
After lunch, it is a straight forward walk back to the carpark via the Wenlock edge.

Clothing, Equipment and Comfort:
- All walks take place within the Ironbridge Gorge which will naturally include uphill and downhill sections, even for short walks. You may want to consider using a walking pole or poles. Please refer to the overview of the walls which give more detail.
- Good walking boots/walking shoes are essential on all of walks. Wear/carry clothing for wet and sunny weather. We can have both in the same day!
- Some sections of the routes may be overgrown and have nettles and brambles, so consider sleeve and trouser lengths for your own comfort.
- Please come prepared for the walk, with water, drinks, snacks and food as appropriate for the length, duration and effort of the walk as it is rarely possible to purchase items on route.
- Please also be aware that toilet facilities and seating are limited on most of the routes.
- Be mindful of any recent rainfall that may also make some of the routes muddy and consider using walking poles. Walking routes may be changed at the last minute due to the impact of the weather.
