Webinar Description:
This webinar teaches the linguists of healthy receptive and expressive language development as a readiness indicator for success in school and life. We'll explore the three modes of early communication between adult and child. Participants will learn how newborns, infants, and toddlers turn our words into meaning, foundational beliefs, emotional regulation and the development of social skills. We’ll provide 10 intentional language script starters as connection points for the teacher/student relationship and learn how to use them in classroom settings. Each script starter is crafted to encourage abstract thinking and promote emotional regulation, allowing kids to practice early learning skills through interactive, engaged conversation with trusted peers and adults. You’ll gain insights on how to play with word choice, phrase length, tone, body language, and voice quality. You'll learn how to apply foresight to the interaction, choose the learning objective, the script strategies, and how to stack them for best environmental and cognitive results.
Objectives:
The participants will be able to…
1. Explain the difference between receptive and expressive language for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
2. Identify and differentiate the five components of comprehensive language delivery.
3. Identify effective communication strategies for young children that leave them more seen, heard, and understood.
