Students will learn the basics of black and white film photography and film development. Attendees will be asked to shoot a short reel of film, either on a disposable camera or their own from home, then will be taught the steps of development in a hands-on demonstration. Students will develop their own film, dry it, and have the option to scan and edit at DMC.Lindy Lyda is a film and digital photographer based in Denton, TX. Through their work, they explore themes of childhood, and Southern folklore, and the human form weaving together nostalgia and storytelling. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, the fleeting magic of youth, and the myths and legends passed down through generations, Lyda’s photography aims to capture moments that feel timeless and deeply personal.
