About this Event
This course focuses on constructing sculptural objects that decenter glass as the primary medium. Through combining hot and cold processes students will develop a working vocabulary of sculptural methods. Students will learn to utilize woods, metals, and plastics to create more complex artworks. Through a series of demonstrations and lectures this course will build material competence. Topics covered will include glassblowing, kiln forming, fabrication, cold processes, adhesives, and installation techniques. The final portion of this class will culminate in an in-situ installation of work produced during the course.
What to Expect: No experience necessary, the students will walk away with a ready-to-exhibit sculpture and knowledge of how to install their own work. The class will be an even split of demos and work time. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.
Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.
This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
