The Mother’s Day Classic is Australia’s largest walk and run event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer and ovarian cancer research.
In 2026, we’re proud to bring this iconic event to Launceston for the first time.
Whether you walk, jog or run — and whether you participate in honour of a loved one, as a survivor, or simply to support women everywhere — everyone is welcome.
Over the past 28 years, the Mother’s Day Classic community has raised over $50 million to fund world-class research. Thanks to this research, breast cancer survival rates have improved significantly — but there is still more work to do, particularly for ovarian cancer, where survival rates remain tragically low.
8:30am - Event Village/Registration
9am - Walk or Run 5 km
9:30am - Walk or Run 2 km
Course Description: The course follows a flat, scenic loop starting behind UTAS Stadium, running along the North Esk River levee before winding through Churchill Park and the Heritage Forest. Participants then return along the levee to finish back at the start, enjoying river and parkland views throughout.
