🌊 About the EventJoin us for the Celebrate the River Day 2026, a fantastic community event held at the Welland Yacht Club.
The day will feature a spectacular flotilla of craft travelling down the River Welland to the Moorings Pub for the half way house sponsored by Sedge Estate Agents, alongside a full programme of family-friendly activities, community stalls, and river-based entertainment.
At approximately 1:00pm, the flotilla will head downriver towards The Moorings Pub, where spectators can enjoy viewing from bridges and riverside spots along the route.
🗓️ Schedule of Events
10:30am – Arrival for flotilla participants & stall holders at Welland Yacht Club
12:00pm – Event opens to the public

12:15pm (TBC) – On-water / land warm-up Pilates or Yoga session
12:45pm – Flotilla safety briefing
1:00pm – Flotilla departs down the River Welland 🚤
(With entertainment on board Water Taxis!)
1.30pm onwards, half way house at the Moorings Sponsored by Sedge Estate Agents
4:00pm approx – Flotilla returns to WYC
5:00pm – Event closes (evening entertainment TBC)
⚠️ Important Parking Information
To reduce disruption to local residents, please park at the old Rookes Agency site on Cradge Bank and walk to the Yacht Club.
Flotilla participants may drop off craft at the designated WYC point before parking
Disabled parking will be available
🚤 Notes for Flotilla Participants
Registration with RNLI required on arrival after drop-off
£5 per person (all proceeds donated to RNLI)
Wristband includes:
Bacon sandwich + tea/coffee at WYC
Burger/hot dog at The Moorings
Wear suitable wet gear and trainers
Life jackets must be worn at all times near water and on the river
SUPs and canoes must be removed at The Moorings to allow Water Taxis to moor
💙 Final Message
This promises to be a fun, community-filled day celebrating our river and local organisations.
Event marshals will be wearing high-vis jackets — please speak to them or the WYC team if you need assistance.
