Imagine your dancers moving under Lisbon’s golden sun… feet meeting ancient cobblestones that have heard centuries of stories… the Tagus River shimmering as a backdrop for your visit. This isn’t about competition or checklists. It’s about letting art breathe in a new place—where every step becomes a conversation with Portugal’s heartbeat.
We’re a small non-profit team at Performing Arts Educators who believe dance is a bridge between cultures and hearts. In summer 2026, we’re gathering a few pre-professional groups to share an 8-day immersion:
- Dancing together beneath Lisbon’s open sky
- A heartfelt workshop weaving Lisbon’s living traditions into your movement
- Wandering Alfama’s winding paths, tasting pastéis, listening to fado at dusk
- A welcome evening where we break bread, laugh, and dream aloud
- Time to simply be—explore, reflect, let inspiration find you
- Cozy stays with morning light and breakfast to start each day softly
Two exploration windows:
July 15–22 or July 22–29, 2026
This is for youth ensembles, teen crews, adult troupes—and the families who travel with them. Directors, it’s a chance for your dancers to grow deeper roots in their artistry while discovering how movement speaks across oceans.
Guided wanderings through Alfama’s historic lanes—sharing tales of fado, ancient architecture, and secret corners—balanced with free moments to roam the streets, linger by the Tagus, or let inspiration quietly settle. As a non-profit, we offer modest cost-sharing so the experience stays open-hearted, and a few travel fellowships for leaders who feel called to bring their community along.
