Od letošního dubna se prostor každé dva týdny promění v kino, které poskytne prostor tvorbě studentů*tek a absolventů*tek pražské FAMU. Program projekcí na další měsíce najdete s předstihem na našem Instagramu a Facebooku.
Cyklus odstartuje festivalově úspěšný dokumentární snímek Ta druhá režisérky Marie Magdalény Kochové. Po promítání navazuje diskuse s tvůrci.

Snímek sleduje osmnáctiletou Johanu, která sní o maturitě a odchodu z maloměsta na vysokou školu. Na rozdíl od svých vrstevníků má ale doma druhou směnu – denně pomáhá s péčí o sestru s postižením. Johana je takzvané „skleněné dítě“, které přetížení rodiče i okolní svět nezáměrně přehlížejí. Zvládne překonat pochybnosti a pocit viny? Dovolí si, jako „ta druhá“, dát konečně sama sebe na první místo? Observační dokument přibližuje dlouhodobě opomíjené téma zdravých sourozenců v rodinách, které pečují o děti se speciálními potřebami. Tento intimní snímek dává hlas všem, kteří se někdy cítili přehlížení.

🌴 Bar & cinema in Letná beach
This April, we’re kicking off the first screening of our FAMU film series at the Split bar in Letná!
Starting in April, the space will transform every two weeks into a cinema, hosting film screenings by FAMU students and alumni. The lineup for the upcoming months will be posted in advance on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
We’re launching the series with the festival-hit documentary The Other One by Marie Magdaléna Kochová. After the screening, a discussion with the creators will follow.
Tickets are available at www.106.works for only 50 CZK! The bar will be open during the screening, serving up alco & non-alco drinks—our signature Rocket included. 🍸🚀
THE OTHER ONE
The film follows eighteen-year-old Johana, who dreams of graduating high school and leaving her small town for university. Unlike her peers, however, she pulls a second shift at home—helping care for her disabled sister every single day. Johana is a so-called "glass child," unintentionally overlooked by her overwhelmed parents and the outside world. Can she overcome her doubts and the guilt? Will she, as "the other one," finally allow herself to put herself first? This observational documentary sheds light on the long-overlooked topic of healthy siblings in families caring for children with special needs. An intimate film that gives a voice to anyone who has ever felt unseen.
