Další projekce ve Splitu znovu otevře citlivé rodinné téma, tentokrát prostřednictvím dokumentu Osm milimetrů rodiny, který je celovečerním debutem Michala Böhma. Tento upřímný deníkový autoportrét měl premiéru na festivalu v Jihlavě, kde získal cenu za nejlepší střih.

🌸 OSM MILIMETRŮ RODINY (2025):
Michal Böhm natáčí svůj život na 8mm kameru s upřímností, kterou si jinak nedovolíme ani sami před sebou. Sleduje vlastní nejistoty, touhy, vztahy, a především jednu velkou otázku, kterou si někdy položil skoro každý: Jak naplánovat rodinu? Příběh začíná v momentě, kdy se rozchází s partnerkou a jejím synem, kterého miloval jako vlastního. Biologické hodiny neúprosně tikají – otec zemřel již dávno a nemocná matka touží po vnoučeti stejně silně jako režisér. Co vzejde z toho, když se Michal zamiluje do Saši, která je o deset let mladší a děti ještě nechce? V otevřené zpovědi o odvaze, strachu a křehkosti vztahů se může poznat každý, kdo někdy řešil otázku, s kým a kdy vlastně založit rodinu.

The next screening at Split returns to a sensitive family theme, this time with the documentary Unborn Father, the feature debut of Michal Böhm. This honest diary-like self-portrait premiered at the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Editing.
After the screening, you can look forward to a discussion with the director.

🌸 UNBORN FATHER (2025):
Inspired by Jonas Mekas’ diary films and his father’s home videos, Michal Böhm composes a candid self-portrait of his own desire for fatherhood from numerous visual fragments. Six years of life, dozens of gestures, smiles, and silent faces captured by the nimble eye of an 8mm camera. A breakup with a partner, a new relationship, his mother’s serious illness, meetings with friends. Demonstrations, pandemics, war, and weddings. Things both fleeting and fundamental. Life as a fabric of fleeting impressions and the camera as a tool that captures, shapes, and preserves them for future generations. And above all, reflections on the future and the legacy we will leave behind, and doubts about whether this is the right world and the right time to have a child.
