Join us for a special Coffee & Conservation event featuring Englewood’s own sea turtle experts from the Coastal Wildlife Club 🐢 Known locally as the “Two Turtle Ladies,” Carol Leonard and Carol McCoy will take us inside the world of sea turtles right here on our local beaches, from nesting activity to conservation efforts happening across Manasota Key, Don Pedro Island, and beyond.Did you know our area is one of the most active sea turtle nesting regions on Florida’s Gulf Coast?

Carol McCoy and Carol Leonard are longtime conservation leaders and volunteers with the Coastal Wildlife Club, monitoring nearly 20 miles of coastline across Charlotte and Sarasota Counties.
From responding to stranded turtles to leading nesting programs and education initiatives, their work plays a direct role in protecting threatened sea turtle populations right here in our community.
