Build confidence for cycling on the road!
About this Event

The Advanced on-road cycling course is for those who are familiar with the essentials of on-road cycling (e.g., have completed the introduction course), but lack confidence with busier roads or complex situations and infrastructure.

The course will begin on quiet streets to recap essential skills. We will then head out to a selection of busier locations, with plenty of opportunities to observe traffic, cycle with the instructor, and practice alone.

The course ends with an optional 30 minute roadside repair session, which will help prepare you for unexpected problems such as punctures and chain issues.

What to bring

Please bring your own bicycle* and helmet, and wear comfortable clothes for the activity. You may wish to bring some water or snacks too.

*The bicycle must be in working order. If you have a bike which you think needs a bit of TLC, please bring it along to the Wee Spoke Hub (before the training day) for a free assessment of your bike. We cannot make repairs on the day of the session.

All Advanced sessions meet at the Wee Spoke Hub.
