In her performance, poet Elif San explores the question of “Was bleibt? – What remains?”.
Confronted with death recently and moved by life to grasp fleeting moments with words, she reflects on the in-between-spaces of the life-death-life cycle. Musing on absence and transience, she processes and celebrates grief in recitation of all that remained unsaid.
Every moment inherits death with a promise for life, riding the silence between the lines.
This poetry performance is a eulogy for all the words that have never been written, spoken or heard.
Short bio
Elif San is a Poet. Her aim in life is to remain one.
After having left Luxembourg for over 10 years and having returned recently, the question of heritage – “Hinterlassenschaft” – is an urging one. What versions of the self have remained here, what was left behind and how can ways be newly paved. In her time abroad, in Vienna and Latin America she explored poetry mainly on stages. Presence and voice play a big role in her work. She believes that poetry is meant to be mostly heard not (only) read.
