Arie and Karen formed LOVE'S TRIANGLE in 2019 and we are ecstatic to be able to offer live kirtan.
🎸 Karen Allen: began her Om Chanti Kirtan offering in 2014 at Harmony Yoga in Duncan and has led and hosted kirtan events with several valley musicians including the Kirtanigans as well as presenting kirtan at the 39 Days of July Music Festival. She has studied kirtan and tantra with Gina Sala and has been a member of the Bhakti Breakfast Club and is a student with Musora. She plays guitar, autoharp, frame drum and Himalayan bowls.
🎹 Arie Vander Reyden: Long time Bhakti Yoga, Arie sings, chants dances, and plays harmonium, and drum in kirtan celebrations. He loves to present authentic, inspiring original songs and chants. Sharing, teaching, motivating and celebrating is his passion since he first discovered yoga. During the last 40 years he has done so on four continents in largely varying cultures.
⏳ Jennifer Shepherd: Jennifer adds much desired percussion and drum to our mix! Jennifer enjoys playing hand percussion in community circles, including Kirtan. She learned Guinean djembe rhythms with Catherine Veilleux and Dartagnan Camara and Japanese taiko with Oto-wa Taiko.

Love's Triangle offers authentic call & response chanting from diverse devotional traditions the first Sunday of the month in Duncan and every third Sunday in Nanaimo. The chants are easy to learn. For many, the practice has a powerful heart-opening effect and it is best understood through direct experience. Bring your energy and enthusiasm, dance, sing, or just rest your heart a while. All is welcome. Attendance is by Drop-in. Kirtan is offered as part of the Bhakti (devotional) yoga tradition and most participants sit on pillows on the floor. There will be chairs available.
