Lavastuses „An Evening with“ viib Alex Franz Zehetbauer publiku sürreaalsesse klaveribaari: klaveri taga istuv laulja ning tema repertuaar raamivad külaliste kogunemist. Kummitama jäävad meloodiad ja triksterlik huumor hoiavad publikut siiruse ja absurdi piiril kõikumas. Liikudes läbi erinevate meeleolude ja registrite, luulelistest hällilauludest rahvalaulu ja poplaululikkuseni, uurib „An Evening with“ laulude mitmekesiseid rolle ja nende kultuurilist mõju. Õhtu võtab üle mingit sorti lummus ning Alex loob läheduse, mis on ühtaegu kummaline ja tuttav, sobitades laulmist erinevatesse koreograafilistesse poosidesse.⚫️
Alex Franz Zehetbauer (1990, Brooklyn) on etenduskunstnik ja vokalist, kes tegutseb etenduskunstide, muusika, kujutava kunsti ja koreograafia ristumiskohas. Oma lavastustes võlub ta publikut rafineeritud meloodiate, kummaliste vokaalsete seikluste ja ootamatute pööretega. Kriitikud on nimetanud teda nii sookoletiseks, ingliks kui ka punasilmseks deemoniks.
Ta on õppinud NYU Experimental Theater Wing’is ning International Theater Workshop’is Amsterdamis. Alex on teinud koostööd kunstnikega nagu Phillip Gehmacher, Jen Rosenblit, Taylor Mac, Anne Juren, Richard Foreman, Marta Navaridas ja Alix Eynaudi. In An Evening with, Alex Franz Zehetbauer transports you to a surreal piano bar: a singer at the piano and his repertoire punctuate the gathering of guests. Ear-worm melodies and a trickster humor keep the audience teetering between the earnest and the absurd. Traversing different moods and registers, from poetic lullaby to folk song to pop rendition, An Evening with investigates the multiple roles of songs and their cultural impacts. A certain enchantment occupies the evening as Alex creates a closeness at once strange and familiar, stretching the song into various choreographic postures.

Alex Franz Zehetbauer (b. 1990, Brooklyn) is a performance artist and vocalist working at the intersection of performance, music, visual arts and choreography. In his performances, he beguiles with sophisticated melodies, strange vocal escapades and unexpected twists. Critics have called him: a swamp monster, an angel, and a red-eyed demon. He studied at NYU’s Experimental Theater Wing and the International Theater Workshop in Amsterdam. Alex has collaborated with artists such as Phillip Gehmacher, Jen Rosenblit, Taylor Mac, Anne Juren, Richard Foreman, Marta Navaridas and Alix Eynaudi. Alex’s work has been presented internationally, examples include: Gwangju Bienniale, (KR); Sophiensaele (DE); BUZZCUT / CCA Glasgow (UK); Tanzquartier Wien (AT); Gessneralle Zurich (CH); Mint (SE); steirischerherbst (AT); brut Wien (AT); The Brick Theater (NYC/US); among others.
