If you or your workers operate a boom-type elevating work platform (EWP) with a boom length of 11 metres or more, a High Risk Work Licence (WP) is a legal requirement under Queensland WHS legislation. No licence = no work. Simple as that.

Unit of Competency:
TLILIC0005 – Licence to Operate a Boom-Type Elevating Work Platform (boom length 11 metres or more)
Licence Outcome:
Successful participants may apply to WHSQ for a High Risk Work Licence (WP class).
Delivery Includes:
• Theory training aligned to WHS legislation and Codes of Practice
• Practical operation of boom-type EWPs
• Pre-start inspections and fault identification
• Safe positioning, movement, and shutdown procedures
• Hazard identification, risk control, and emergency response
• Formal assessment conducted by an accredited High Risk Work Assessor
Training and assessment are conducted in accordance with ASQA Standards for RTOs and WHSQ High Risk Work Licensing requirements.
