🪶✨ Teaching of the Drum: Indigenous Craft Workshop ✨🪶
Teachings with Mika Wolley of Indigenous Dreams
A Mohawk, Turtle Clan Member — Statused with Six Nations
Step into a powerful, sacred learning experience that honours tradition, story, and cultural connection. This two-part workshop invites you into the teachings shared by Mika Wolley of Indigenous Dreams, as she guides participants through the cultural history, significance, and creation of the Indigenous hand drum — a practice rooted in identity, healing, and the heartbeat of community.
With care, respect, and authenticity, Mika will share the stories carried by the drum, the intention behind its structure, and how its rhythm links us to the land, our ancestors, and spirit. Following these teachings, participants will create their own traditional hand drum using guided techniques and all materials provided.
🌿 Honouring Tradition
In many teachings, a first drum is meant to be gifted. To honour this meaningful practice, we invite participants to bring a friend or loved one who may receive the drum you create — transforming the workshop into a deeply personal, heartfelt act of giving.
As part of your full experience, registration also includes a Medicine Pouch Workshop held during our Drum Feasting and Birthing Ceremony. Traditionally tied to the drum, these pouches hold sacred medicines, offering protection, intention, and spirit to your creation.
This is more than a craft — it is an immersive cultural journey that honours responsibility, tradition, and the sacred role of the drum.
