The geopolitics of Europe-Taiwan relations: opportunities and challenges🧋 The « Science Bubble Tea » is the flagship Franco-Taiwanese science event organised by the French Office in Taipei, where we gather the best scientific experts to debate science, technology and societal challenges.
For this 11th edition, we will discuss the geopolitics of Europe – Taiwan relations with Dr. Cho-Hsin Su, Associate Professor at National Cheng-Chi University and Dr. Zsuzsa A. Ferenczy, Affiliated Scholar at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Assistant Professor at National Dong Hwa University.
Discussing Europe-Taiwan relations is particularly interesting in today’s fast-changing geopolitical environment. Come to debate the following questions with the experts: What’s Europe’s policy towards Taiwan? What’s the role of Europe in Taiwan’s foreign policy? What future, opportunities and challenges for Taiwan – Europe ties?
Our guests :
👉 Dr. Cho-Hsin Su (蘇卓馨) is an Associate Professor at the Departement of Diplomacy of the College of International Affairs of National Cheng-Chi University (NCCU), specializing in regional integration, the European Union and international relations theories.
Dr. Cho-Hsin Su is a PhD graduate in Political Science from Université Paris Panthéon-Assas.
Her recent publications focused on Europe as a normative power in the Indo-Pacific and the EU’s strategic autonomy capacity.
👉 Dr. Zsuzsa Anna Ferenczy is an Affiliated Scholar at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Adjunct Assistant Professor at National Dong Hwa University in Hualien specializing in EU-Taiwan, EU-China and cross-Strait relations, and the geopolitics of the Indo-Pacific region.
In 2024 Zsuzsa published her latest book entitled Partners in Peace: Why Europe and Taiwan Matter to Each Other.
Previously, Zsuzsa worked as a political advisor in the European Parliament (2008-2020).
