[EN] Dark psychedelic rock phenomenon Zagušljivi Dim from Čakovec will soon hit the road for their first lengthy international tour; so will the Tbilisi-based American experimental composer and ethnomusicologist Ben Wheeler with his project Bneleti. The two tours, both organized by Inverted Spectrum Records, will converge in Belgrade on 17 February 2026, Tuesday, in Kontrapunkt, where Dim and Bneleti will be joined by one of the most unique names of the Belgrade avantgarde music scene, the noise pop singer, improviser and composer Umbra. Belgrade has probably seen no other musical night that presented so many different colors of the dark.

[EN] The Čakovec-based trio Zagušljivi dim (“The Suffocating Smoke”) finds inspiration in the worlds around and within us. Their music is a mantra-like musical journey, aimed at exploring the wondrous, the eerie, the unknown, and the mysterious. "Smoke" in their name signifies fluidity and elusiveness, echoed in their continual genre-shifting approach: the band constantly oscillates between psychedelic rock, krautrock and spoken word, incorporating experimental, post-punk/post-rock and ethno/folk influences, crafting their albums into cohesive musical narratives.
The band has published their music on WV Sorcerer Productions (France/China), Ramble Records (Australia), and Echodelick Records (USA), and has quickly become a sought-after band in the region. They have so far performed in Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, France and Belgium, and were invited to perform as a support act for the Indonesian avant-folk ensemble Senyawa at the Močvara Club, Zagreb. Recently, the band published a live-in-studio video as part of the Austrian YouTube series Metz Sessions, and are working on a new album.

🟧 BNELETI
Pored svog projekta Bneleti, Viler je objavljivao i pod svojim imenom, komponovao muziku za više nezavisnih filmova i radio kao muzički supervizor, kompozitor i dizajner zvuka.
[EN] Named after a mythical 'World of Darkness' in ancient Georgian folklore, Bneleti (ბნელეთი) is a solo project by Ben Wheeler, an experimental musician, composer, and ethnomusicologist based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Performing with an electric guitar, saz, and modular synthesizer, Wheeler integrates his impressions of the music of Caucasus, particularly Azerbaijani guitar music and Georgian polyphony, with dark ambient, drone, and experimental composition, and the aesthetic of Seattle hardcore and black metal, creating a musical world that is beyond genre classifications. His first full-length release under the moniker "Bneleti" is set to be released in February 2026 on Inverted Spectrum Records, and will be followed by a three-week tour of Central and Eastern Europe.
Ben Wheeler is the co-founder of Mountains of Tongues, a project dedicated to preserving and promoting lesser known music from the Caucasus region. He has recorded songs in languages that have rarely been caught on tape, instruments that only exist in extremely small numbers, and performances from a variety of underrepresented ethnic, religious, and linguistic minority communities throughout the region. He is an instructor on synthesizers at Creative Education Studio in Tbilisi. Besides his Bneleti project, Wheeler has also published under his own name, composed music for multiple independent films, and worked as a music supervisor, composer, and sound designer.

🟧 UMBRA
[SRB] Umbra suočava senovite zvuke glasa i poetske oglede sa looper-om. Umbra odmotava melodije natopljene u šumovima, akordima i pulsevima.
"Beogradska umetnica Marija Balubdžić je tokom dugog niza godina učestvovala u raznovrsnoj i raznolikoj muzici, vodila horove, pravila nojz poeziju i radila na polju nekih daleko više akademskih elektroakustičkih metoda i pedagogija. Njen solo projekat, Umbra, sintetiše sve to, lomeći se stalno između slatkog i gorkog, šuma i melodije." - Tristan Bath, The Quietus
[EN] Umbra is a songstress colliding tenebrous sounds and poetic temptation with electronics, unbinding chants saturated in noise, chords, and pulses.
“Belgrade-based artist Marija Balubdžić has participated in a diverse variety of musics over the years, conducting choirs, making noise poetry, and working with some far more academic electroacoustic methods and pedagogies. Her solo project, Umbra, synthesizes it all together, splitting constantly between sweet and sour, noise and melody.” - Tristan Bath, The Quietus
