🎨 Fauvism Landscapes
Sip & Paint at The Hartwood Hall, Chorley
Spend a relaxed Sunday afternoon immersed in colour, creativity and good company at The Hartwood Hall, an elegant and welcoming restaurant pub in the heart of Chorley.
This sip & paint session is inspired by Fauvism — a movement known for its bold colour, expressive brushwork and emotionally rich landscapes. Often called the “wild beasts” of the art world, the Fauves painted with freedom and confidence, using colour to convey atmosphere and feeling rather than strict realism. That spirit sits beautifully within the calm, refined setting of The Hartwood Hall.
Working on canvas with acrylic paints, you’ll be guided step by step by a qualified Art & Design teacher, building your painting from loose blocks of colour through to expressive detail. The session is carefully structured yet relaxed, making it suitable for complete beginners while still offering plenty to enjoy if you’ve painted before.
We’ll explore strong colour combinations, simplified landscape forms and expressive mark-making, helping you create a vibrant, contemporary landscape that feels confident and full of movement. While everyone works from the same core inspiration, there’s plenty of space for personal interpretation, so each finished painting will be completely individual.
This is an unhurried, enjoyable Sunday afternoon experience — perfect for switching off, being creative and settling in for a few hours of painting in a comfortable, stylish setting. The Hartwood Hall offers step-free access, ample free parking just moments from the motorway, and a gorgeous food and drinks menu if you’d like to make an afternoon of it.
You’ll leave with a finished canvas to take home, along with that relaxed, satisfied feeling that comes from a well-spent Sunday.
What’s included:
Fully guided tuition • Acrylics on canvas • All materials provided • Beginner-friendly • Take your artwork home
Food and drinks are available to purchase throughout the session.
