Join us for an exciting STEM class at Frog Family Reptile & Amphibians where kids dive into the science behind shedding, why snakes shed, and how it keeps them healthy!
This class is packed with hands-on learning, real animals, and cool take-home material.

π 1. Snake Skin Anatomy 101
Kids learn how snake scales work, why they shed, and what shedding tells us about growth and health.
π 2. The Shedding Cycle Diagram
Weβll walk through the full cycle:
β’ Blue phase
β’ Dull phase
β’ Pre-shed behaviors
β’ Full shed
β’ Post-shed shine
βοΈ 3. Worksheet Activity: Label the Shed Cycle
Kids will fill out a real educational worksheet mapping out each stage.
π 4. REAL Snake Handling & Observation
Students get hands-on with non-venomous, kid-friendly snake species while learning how to safely and respectfully handle them.
π§€ 5. Shed Stretch & Texture Exploration
Kids get to examine REAL shed pieces up close β stretch them, feel the texture, and compare different species.
π½οΈ 6. Live Feeding OR Enrichment Demo
Depending on the snakeβs schedule, kids will observe either a feeding demo or watch enrichment behaviors (always age-appropriate and supervised).
