Join us for an unforgettable night of music with Jake Xerxes Fussell, a singer, guitarist, and composer born and raised right here in Columbus, GA and now based in Durham, NC.Fussell’s intuitive creative process draws deeply from traditional music and archival field recordings, weaving elements of the past into something entirely his own. NPR’s Ann Powers calls him “maybe the leading interpreter of American folk music right now…” and this performance offers a chance to experience his artistry up close.
He’ll be joined by Dougie Poole, a Los Angeles–based musician and songwriter. Emerging from Providence’s DIY scene of the early 2010s, Poole transitioned from experimental sounds into a distinctive country-influenced style, earning a devoted following along the way.
