It’s Fall, y’all! Celebrate the start of the season with an afternoon of creativity! On Saturday, September 27, from 4 – 5:30 PM, the Eureka Springs School of the Arts opens its doors for the September Studio Stroll, a free, all-ages event where you can tour the campus, step inside working studios, and watch art in progress.Mingle with our local art community, ask questions, and get inspired as you see students and instructors bring incredible projects to life.
During the Studio Stroll, you’ll get a front-row seat to:
Weaving on a Frame Loom with Dawn Ward – Watch colorful threads come together under the hands of students as they experiment with texture, pattern, and finishing techniques. It’s a captivating blend of rhythm and artistry that just might inspire you to pick up a loom yourself.
Build a Viking Chest with Doug Stowe & Dale Custer – This is one you don’t want to miss. Nationally renowned woodworking master Doug Stowe joins forces with expert blacksmith Dale Custer for an extraordinary collaboration. In the wood studio, sturdy white oak is shaped with precision and care; in the blacksmith shop, glowing iron is forged into custom hardware. The result? A one-of-a-kind Viking chest: crafted by hand, built to last for generations.
Metal Clay Bootcamp with Brandy Boyd – Step into the world of metal clay and watch clay transform into luminous silver. Metal clay is a versatile material that starts as clay and turns into pure metal when fired, opening new possibilities for metalsmiths. In this workshop, students are shaping, texturing, and firing dazzling silver jewelry, each piece as unique as the artist who made it.
