Join us for a vibrant, family‑friendly celebration of Waitangi Day in the heart of Fiordland. This year’s festival theme is Ngā Rauemi o te Taiao – Nature’s Resources, honouring the stories, knowledge, and natural treasures of our environment.
Programme Highlights
11:30am – Mihi Whakatau & Ngā Herenga Waka Kapa Haka
A warm welcome and powerful kapa haka performance to open the day.
12:30pm – Traditional Hāngi Served
Prepared by local whānau and shared with the community.

Dr. Rock – Discover Te Anau’s Geological Story
Hands‑on rock exploration for all ages. Learn how erosion shapes our lakefront, identify “rock families,” explore rock trays from the high‑ and low‑tide marks, and bring your own rocks for Dr. Rock to identify.
