This year's theme, ‘Beyond The Label: Queer Identities in Law,’ explores the diverse and multifaceted nature of queer identities in the legal profession. The panel of five speakers will delve into personal journeys, challenges and successes to highlight the complex and nuanced nature of queer experiences, as well as the importance of representation and inclusion in law. The discussion aims to foster understanding, empathy, and support for queer professionals, while encouraging broader conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion in law.
If you're a Queer-identifying Monash Law student seeking support and guidance in navigating law school and the legal profession, this event is for you. Allies are also welcome, as your support is crucial in our journey toward inclusivity.
The panel will run from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at Monash Law Chambers in the CBD. Following the panel, the networking portion of the event will take place from 7:00 - 10:00 pm at La Di Da, where you can mingle with queer lawyers, law students, and allies alike.
