Mark your calendars! Friday 29th November 6-8pm, upper Octagon, Dunedin. This day also marks the international day of solidarity with Palestinians. We had to postpone the vigil marking 1 year of genocide but it’s time to do it and remember the ones that have been killed! It’s been over 400 days of this genocide + 75 other years of apartheid, killing, losses, colonization, settler violence, land theft, children detainees, 45k+ killed for no reason. Palestinians deserve to live and enjoy life like every other human but instead they've been starved and tortured to death while documenting a genocide that's live on our social media. Palestinians have had to carry bags of body parts of their beloved ones, some still don't even know if their relatives are still alive. Some got killed while eating, some got killed hungry and some kids couldn't even get a chance to finish their croissant or ice cream. Palestinians deserve the world. Over 188 journalists have been targeted only for wanting to tell the truth. Let's remember them, let's say their names. Let's do this for Hind Rajab, for Sidra Hasnoueh, for the souls we lost in Lebanon as well, for the ones that are displaced for the 10th time. Share widely Ōtepoti. Over 1000 babies didn't even get a chance to turn into 1 year old or have a candle for their bdays so let's have this candlelight vigil for them and grieve together, keep standing together and let's not forget them. Feel free to bring your own candle, a jar if you can, a +1 or 2 and most importantly your Aroha and solidarity. Free free Palestine, free free Gaza. Long live Palestine, long live Gaza. Free Lebanon, Free Sudan, Free Syria, Honour the Treaty. We’re not free until all of us are free!
