Since an early age, Layla has been fascinated by her mother and grandmother cooking in their small kitchen in Marrakech, Morocco. The aromas and flavors of food are something that have stayed with her since then. In Morocco, one can’t enter a home without being offered a cup of tea with homemade sweets, lunch, or dinner. This is why Layla wants to bring the traditions of hospitality, kindness, and love for food inherited from her mother and grandmother to Detroit. Layla aims for Detroiters to experience the flavors and ambiance of Morocco, which is oceans away, while sitting right here in our city.
