🏁 SMELL IT!
In this workshop we are going to use all our senses to improvise! It is important to create space when we are on stage and to interact with it to make our scenes pop out and feel real. Using all our senses, yes even smell, will connect us with the space that is around us and fill this void that an empty scene can be. This workshop is to make our scenes more substantial, juicier and more “I wanna take a bite out of this delicious cupcake” kind of scenes.
🎓 MICHALIS PANAGIOTAKIS
Michalis Panagiotakis is an improviser/actor/performer/ based on the island of Crete in Greece. He is the founder and creative director of Heraklion Improv Theater, the first and only Improv Theater on the island of Crete! He’s also the co-founder of OFF BOOK CULTURE a not-for-profit organization that promotes improv and theater culture.
Michalis is very passionate about Improv, so much that he left behind his research career to do what he loves best: Improv. He is a big advocate of improv from life for life and for improvisers to connect on and off stage. He says that there is no bigger stage than the universe we are in and tries to savour this.
Michalis’s teaching style has been influenced by all the different people he has been taught by: Keith Johnstone, Charna Halpern, Mick Napier, Andel Sudik, Matt Higbee, Katy Schutte, Tim Soszko, Gretchen Eng, Frank Tottino and others have shaped a unique approach to Improv. Improv that is fast and witty, but also slow-burn scenes with gravity. He is all in for Improv that people who are involved have a good time on stage and the scenes that are created make everyone in the theater travel to places and situations beyond one’s imagination.
