The 2024 World Women’s Curling Championship is taking place in Sydney on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada from 16-24 March 2024.
Switzerland come into the tournament as reigning champions, winning the last four editions (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023).
Action begins with a round-robin event, where all 13 nations will play each other once.
The top six teams will advance to the play-off places, with the countries who take the top two spots proceeding directly to the semi-finals.
Their opponents will be decided when the four remaining teams go head-to-head in the qualification games.
Losers of the semi-finals will meet in the bronze-medal match, while the winners will go for the world title on Saturday 24 March.
The 13 nations competing are Canada, Republic of Korea, Japan, the United States, New Zealand, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Scotland, Estonia, Denmark, and Türkiye.
Switzerland enters the competition as the reigning world champions after completing a four-peat at the 2023 event. Skip Silvana Tirinzoni has dominated at the international level, and aims to add to her historic resume by eyeing a fifth consecutive world title.
The action begins Saturday, March 16 and wraps up on March 24.
The 2024 World Women’s Curling Championship is set to start Saturday, March 16 and run until Sunday, March 24.
