写真とは何か、作品とは何か。
この問いは写真作品を制作する者に常に現れ続ける難問です。写真作品が宿命的にもつ過去という性質と、表現がつかもうとする自分のいまの固有の意味。
この両者は鋭く引き裂かれていて、ひとつに統合することはほとんど不可能のようにも思えます。今回、私たちのグループ展は『歴史／現前』という共通テーマで、この問いに向き合いたいと思います。

What is photography, and what is art?
This question is a persistent challenge that continues to confront those who create
photographic works. On the one hand, there is the inescapable past inherent in photographic art; on the other, the unique, immediate meaning that expression seeks to capture. These
two elements appear to be sharply divided, making it nearly impossible to merge them into one. In our group exhibition, themed “History/Presence” we wish to face this very question.
