葡萄牙鬼才導演提亞戈．羅德里格斯攜手法國傳奇影后伊莎貝．雨蓓，嶄新演繹契訶夫的最後一部劇作《櫻桃園》。在極致簡約的舞台上，凝練時代變遷的悲喜，以百年經典映照瞬息萬變的當下，折射當今世界的多元面貌。
《櫻桃園》是由亞維儂藝術節構思策劃的悲喜劇，於2021年首演，透過獨特的戲劇語言，搭配優雅的服裝設計，轉化成對向時代致敬。作品以法語演出，舞台設計極致簡約卻引人注目，故事圍繞由於伊莎貝．雨蓓飾演的女主人麗波芙，在離家多年後，因必須拍賣家族莊園以償還債務而回到家鄉。伊莎貝．雨蓓以殿堂級演技，細膩呈現麗波芙複雜矛盾的內心世界，絲絲入扣的演繹將令觀眾深陷其中，產生共鳴。伊莎貝．雨蓓被譽為世界上最佳的女演員之一，曾獲金球獎及柏林影展終身成就榮譽金熊獎等獎項。這次，雨蓓與現任亞維儂藝術節總監、國際知名導演兼劇作家提亞戈．羅德里格斯聯手打造這齣劇場經典，以他們的《櫻桃園》向時代致敬，以創意解構經典。
A classic for a new era
Theatre at its best will return to our shores with a new exciting perspective on The Cherry Orchard, Chekhov’s last masterpiece. Featuring celebrated French actress Isabelle Huppert on the lead role, staged by Portuguese director Tiago Rodrigues, this play mirrors the uncertainties of our time. Performed on a strikingly minimalist set, the plot serves as a magnifying glass over our world in all its diversity.
Conceived by the Avignon Festival, this tragicomedy is turned into a celebration of change through a unique theatrical language, punctuated by elegant costume design. Performed in French on a minimalist, yet striking set, the story revolves around Lyubov, an elusive and complex woman played by Huppert, who returns home when her family estate is about to be sold to pay off debts. Dubbed by many as one of the best actresses in the world, Isabelle Huppert has been distinguished with the most important acting accolades, from a Golden Globe to an honorary Golden Bear for her lifetime achievement. This time, Huppert is teaming up with Tiago Rodrigues, an internationally recognized director and playwright, currently leading the Avignon Festival, bringing us a celebration of change, a whirlwind of ingenuity and charm.
