⧒ ⧒ ⧒Az idei év februárjától a Freeszfe Egyesület és az Auróra együttműködésében havi rendszerességgel jelentkező filmklub indul. Ezeken az alkalmakon a definíciós problémákkal terhelt Slow Cinema vonzáskörébe tartozó filmek kerülnek bemutatásra minden hónap utolsó hétfőjén az Auróra nagytermében. Az 1990-es években induló, új stílusirányzatként értelmezhető nemzetközi áramlat origóját Tarr Béla Kárhozattól kezdődő filmjei képezik, emellett többek között olyan rendezők munkáit foglalja magába, mint Tsai Ming-Liang, Abbas Kiarostami, Chantal Akerman, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Carlos Reygadas vagy Pedro Costa. A Slow Cinema érzékenyen reagál a kortárs társadalmi viszonyokat jelentős mértékben meghatározó mediális környezetre, az érzékek folyamatos sokkolásán alapuló domináns tendenciára. Milyen alternatívákat kínálnak ezek az alkotói gyakorlatok a mainstream filmkészítéssel és befogadáskoncepcióval szemben? Hogyan viszonyul mindez a tágabb értelemben vett slow mozgalmak jelenségéhez? A vetítéseket követő kötetlen beszélgetések során többek között ezekre a kérdésekre keresünk válaszokat.

2004, 95’ / német és francia nyelven, angol felirattal
Angela Schanelec 2004-es alkotása a Cannes-i Filmfesztivál Un Certain Regard szekciójában mutatkozott be, és ugyanebben az évben elnyerte a Német Filmkritikusok legjobb forgatókönyvnek járó díját. A film főszereplője, Sophie fiatal fotográfus, aki elcseréli berlini lakását a Marseilleben élő Zeldáéval. A lány számára az ismeretlen város, Marseille megismerése és felfedezése egy új élet kezdetét jelenti. A lakáscsere azonban meghatározott időre szól, és Sophienak vissza kell térnie régi életébe, Berlinbe.

As a result of the collaboration between Freeszfe and Auróra a new film club is going to be held every last Monday of the month at the great hall of Auróra community centre. At these events we are going to show films that are in some ways connected to Slow or Contemplative Cinema. The international tendency’s starting point is the ouevre of Béla Tarr and it also involves, among others, the works of Tsai Ming-Liang, Abbas Kiarostami, Chantal Akerman, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Carlos Reygadas and Pedro Costa. Slow Cinema is sensitive to the contemporary media environment that circumscribes social relations and to it’s dominant tendency that is based on the permanent schocking of our senses. What kind of alternatives do these artistic workflows offer in opposite to the methods of mainstream filmmaking and it’s concept of reception? How are these connected to slow movements in a wider sense? Among others, we are searching for answers to these questions at the open discussions after the screenings.

2004, 95 min / German and French speaking, with English subtitles
Marseille is the fiction of the german director, Angela Schanelec, whose feature was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival and won the prize for best screenplay of the German Film Critics Association. The protagonist is a young photographer, Sophie, who does an apartment swap with a foreign girl, Zelda, so she can go photograph Marseille, a city where she has never been before. But the time spent in Marseille is just an interlude and Sophie has to go back to Berlin, from where she wanted to get away.
Following the screenings the organizers of the events, Sára Holczer and Ábris Imre host an open discussion about the film.
