Le terme “páifāng” fait référence aux portes emblématiques qui représentent l’entrée du Quartier chinois et servent de passerelles entre le quartier et le monde extérieur.Dans un esprit de création de liens, ce festival vise à rapprocher les communautés queer et leurs amis du Quartier chinois et à établir des relations intergénérationnelles avec ses habitants.
Au cours de cette journée, les participants pourront prendre part à des ateliers sur le tai-chi, la médecine traditionnelle chinoise, ainsi que le plaisir et le consentement, animés par des éducateurs locaux. Pour la célébration de clôture, rendez-vous au parc Sun-Yat-Sen pour le mahjong, des performances drag, des interprétations intergénérationnelles en direct de classiques chinois et un DJ set dynamique.
Le festival Paifang est réalisé en partenariat avec la Ville de Montréal, l’arrondissement de Ville-Marie, Fierté Montréal, Sticky Rice Magazine et Jia Foundation.
Notre programme varié invite les participants à développer leur esprit, à ravir leurs sens et à tisser des liens significatifs.

The term “páifāng” refers to the iconic gates that represent the entrance to Chinatown and serve as gateways between the neighbourhood and the outside world.
In the spirit of building bridges, this festival aims to connect queer communities and their friends with Chinatown and build intergenerational relationships with its residents.
During this full-day event, participants can take part in workshops on tai chi, traditional Chinese medicine, and pleasure & consent led by local educators. For the closing celebration, meet us at Sun-Yat-Sen Park for mahjong, a drag and intergenerational show, live singing renditions of Chinese classics, and a lively DJ set.
The Paifang Festival is made possible in partnership with the Ville de Montréal, the borough of Ville-Marie, Fierté Montréal, Sticky Rice Magazine and the Jia Foundation.
