🔦 Hosted by BikePGH, Operation Illumination is a public bike light and bike helmet giveaway held each year in various locations throughout the city of Pittsburgh.

BikePGH cares about riders’ safety and education, and this is one of the most direct ways to provide that assistance. Last year we gave out over seven hundred free bike light sets and over two hundred helmets at events across Pittsburgh.
This year's bike light giveaways are possible thanks to US Steel.

Riding without lights is an unsafe, ticketable offense. PA state law requires front lights and rear reflectors to be visible after dusk and before dawn. To receive your free lights, please be sure to bring your UNLIT BIKE to the event. If you already own lights please don’t request a set.
