The week-long gallery show seeks to invite a select group of textile artists from around the world to share their very own garments of "reconstruction"; the aim of each wearable or accessory being to celebrate the rebuilding of a better world post-pandemic and onwards.
Whether it be a garment, textile, accessory, or even a piece of jewelry, all featured artists have been encouraged to emotionally-recycle personal materials , incorporate elements of handcraft, and most importantly—make do with what they already have.
As we process the very difficult moments of this past year, it is my belief that the slow, yet undeniable power of craft can serve as an impactful tool for togetherness, cultural exchange, and both the collective reimagining and rebuilding of a better world.
