The workshop begins with a demonstration by Sally showing techniques for painting 3 landscape strips with a limited colour palette in beautiful highly pigmented watercolour inks.
After trying out your version of the landscapes, you will use a small cut out window frame to view different areas of your paintings and you will select 9 small squares from your strips and begin to add some detail to each one.
Using tools for mark making and a selection of natural elements to work with such as vintage fabrics, threads and torn paper, you can add interest to each square.
Finally your 9 individual squares will be mounted on to a new sheet of paper to create a new mosaic format picture. You will each get a mount for your final landscape story square as it comes together as one finished piece of art. (Mounts included in price)
Using remaining parts of your painting strips you will now make some handmade cards using the same techniques.
All materials will be provided at the workshop but feel free to bring your own brushes, watercolour inks and any natural textures you might like to experiment with for your picture if you have them.
