The site has a fascinating history with the 1879 established convent, being home to some 250 nuns in its heyday before eventually closing

The Community of the Holy Name - Father George and Sister Mary established the convent in Ranelagh Road in 1879

In the 1960s, the intake of novices declined and, by the mid 1980's, the community was struggling financially and began to sell off land for housing and then industrial development. In 1989, the convent was sold to a property developer and the few remaining nuns moved to a smaller convent in Derby, where they remain today.
This is a large site with a beautiful Chapel situated in the middle of it. You will have access to the Chapel , the cloisters leading to the Chapel, ( accommodation blocks where the Nuns lived) and a huge network of basement rooms , the basement is a total maze and are situated underthe whole complex.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY

Locals hear Singing/ Chanting/Music comes that comes from the Chapel at times when the building is empty. Builders also had issues years ago when they were on site with tools going missing and strange noises heard.
Dark Shadows have also been seen. Voices and humming can be heard along with bangs in the Cloisters and Chapel

PARKING

Not on site, local parking available for free in the Malvern Shopping Park with no restrictions.
Please park at the 'Costa' end ( Same side as Mcdonalds) we will meet as a group at the side of Costa at 7:50 PM, we will then walk you through some woods to the back of the convent, this is a 2 minute walk. We will walk you back to your cars at the end of the evening. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE
