About this Event
Nelson is remembered for his sea battles and his heroic death at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. However, it was his time in the Caribbean that really shaped him as a naval officer and led to some of his strongly held beliefs, especially in the preservation of the plantation economy through enslaved labour. This talk will look at his time in the Caribbean and some of his legacies that still exist in the Caribbean.
